Emergency

Current Clients:

Emergency care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cases may be referred to MSU if surgery or intensive clinical care is warranted.

**For the purposes of emergency care, clients are considered current if they have been evaluated and/or received routine services (vaccinations, dentistry, wellness examination) within the past 12 months. This is considered a Veterinary/Client/Patient Relationship (VCPR)**

Non-Clients/Lapsed:

Out of dedication to being available for our current clients and patients during their time of need, we cannot guarantee emergency services for those who are not current clients. They may be seen based on Doctor availability. Additional fees apply for non-client emergencies. Please note that emergency visits do not establish a Veterinary/Client/Patient relationship. To establish yourself as a current client non-emergency care must be scheduled.

Trailering

Hauling into the clinic is always an option. We recommend you have a plan in place to be able to haul your horse to either our clinic or MSU if referral is required. It is a good idea to have a couple of trailering options if the need arises.

Veterinary-Client-Patient Relationship

The Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) is the essential basis for interaction among veterinarians, their clients, and their patients.  It is critical to providing quality veterinary care and vital to animal welfare by allowing a veterinarian to regularly assess a pet’s entire physical status, family environment, and to regularly communicate with the owner.
